Insects and Diseases: NJ's Hot Topics


An update on the latest forest health issues – how to identify them, who to call if you spot any, and actions you can take to prevent or minimize spread. Although many forest health issues are non- native, some native forest health pests have expressed invasive tendencies under certain circumstances, adding to the list of threats. But it’s not all doom and gloom! Scientists are finding innovative ways to overcome these challenges.


Rosa Yoo


Rosa Yoo is the Forest Health Specialist with the NJ Forest Service, monitoring, surveying, and suppressing invasive forest health threats. She has worked for the NJ forest service since 2004, starting her career with the Urban and Community Forestry Program. She is a graduate of SUNY‐ESF and has a bachelors and masters degrees in forest resource management.
